San Francisco Chronicle

Today's San Francisco Chronicle was founded in 1865 as The Daily Dramatic Chronicle by teenage brothers Charles de Young and Michael H. de Young.[1] The paper grew along with the City and County of San Francisco to become the largest circulation newspaper on the West Coast by 1880, and today is Northern California's largest newspaper. Serving primarily the San Francisco Bay Area, but distributed throughout Northern California, including the Sacramento area and North Coast, it has a daily circulation of about 375,000, the 14th largest circulation nationally.[2]
